About

I’m a linguist – I have an MA in Applied Linguistics and my specialty is CALL – Computer Assisted Language Learning. As you would (hopefully) expect from someone in this field, I speak more than one language – I grew up bilingually somewhere between the Austrian Alps and lots of other places.

I started out on Apple IIe’s (learning how to program in BASIC and FORTRAN) in high school, destined to become an engineer. Instead, I ended up studying Psychology, French and German, and later adding a graduate degree in Linguistics. That said, a good book will still get me just as excited as a sleek new laptop; and I’m grateful to my parents for never denying me any book I ever asked for.
